Ross Spring Chickens 39

Ross Mature Cheeses 28

On a beautiful Boxing day morning, the Ross Rugby Club Mature Cheeses, made up of players let's politely say in the twilight of their careers, dusted off their boots, and took on the the Ross Spring chickens, players rumoured to be in their prime. Spurred on by a big crowd, and a couple of shots of Vintage Port, the Mature Cheeses were ready to turn back the clock to a time before 5 point tries, quick penalties, when there was no difference between "stamping and rucking"

Unfortunately, the Spring chickens had decided that occasion demanded a fast and open game. Before the Mature Cheeses had time to remonstrate with the referee on the legality of such play they were an uncomfortable four tries down to a younger side.
