An eagle-eyed passer-by averted a credit card sting at the Abbey National in Ross on Monday.

In the early hours of Monday morning, October, 6th, a person on their way to work spotted some men fixing a device to the cash machine outside the High Street branch. The police were called and they removed the device which is used by criminals to photograph pin numbers.

The staff at the Abbey National were hopeful that the machine was spotted and removed before any customers had been caught out.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police wants to remind people to shield their hand when typing in their pin number.
