The 2011 carnival kicked off at 1pm on Saturday with a fabulously colourful procession of floats, decorated cars and walkers in fancy dress, through the town. The Ross Town Band entertained in the Market Place and there was a steel band in the procession. The carnival continued through the afternoon down by the river where there were stalls, demonstrations, sideshows and activities.
