This year, the Ross Gazette has chosen Rocky-Lee’s Little Feet as its Charity of the Year, which we hope will raise much needed funds, and raise awareness of what is often a very hidden issue.
To support this charity, I will be taking part in a 5K run, on April 21st, 2018 in Chepstow. The ‘Ultimate 5k Inflatable obstacle course’ is packed with the some of the largest and most extreme inflatable obstacles ever created, and visits many locations in the UK.
Rocky-Lee’s Little Feet aims to provide financial relief and assistance to people in the UK who cannot afford a memorial headstone or plaque for their stillborn baby, born after 24 weeks of gestation, by providing funding towards the costs of a memorial headstone or plaque; and to relieve the mental and emotional distress of newly bereaved mothers by the provision of memory bears, in particular but not exclusively, for those in Hereford Hospital’s labour ward.
They raise awareness of the impact of pregnancy and baby loss, with a view to bringing comfort to bereaved parents, and their families, after the loss of a baby.
A headstone is the last practical act a parent can do for their child, and Rocky Lee’s Little Feet want to help those who would struggle to fulfil this. After all, it is a parent’s instinct to protect their child and a grieving parent’s instinct to protect their child’s memory.
They also offer support and equipment for Hereford Hospital’s labour ward and 2017 saw the launch of their new Memory Box programme which has started in Hereford County Hospital.
Please sponsor me and support this fantastic charity. All donations will go directly to Rocky-Lee’s Little Feet, and you can donate online at: www.totalgiving.co.uk/mypage/hollyclack
