Several students from John Kyrle High School took part in the Herefordshire Badminton Academy at the Cathedral School.
Year 9 boys, Kieron Nelson and Nic Ong, took part in the Under 16 boys' competition and made it through to the semi-finals where they were knocked out.
Sixth Form student, Caroline Hartland, was triumphant in the Under 20 girls' competition. Ryan Clack and Sam Parker, also in the Sixth Form, were worthy winners in the Under 20s competition.
The team's gallant efforts were rewarded by winning the trophy for the best team effort within the Herefordshire schools.
