Tesco has confirmed that it has submitted an amended planning application that replaces the petrol station with additional car parking, which the Council is expected to consider and consult upon in the near future.

"We have already announced our intention to revise the application, most notably with the removal of the petrol station. The officers at the council will want to consider these proposed changes and other representations from Tesco before making a recommendation to the planning committee. We hope to have a date for a planning committee meeting in the coming weeks," said Tesco's corporate affairs manager, Simon Petar.
