MADAM, May I through your through your columns thank Ross Town Council for the excellent band concerts that they organised this summer. The choice of music varied from the classical to pop, from show favourites to the 60s. Myself and a number of friends enjoyed all of them as did many others. We, and others, were surprised that two bands (Lydney and Drybrook) failed to play our National Anthem. A lot of people commented on the fact that they did not play it and with just a few exceptions everyone stood up when it was played. Once again, thanks Town Council, we look forward to next year's concerts. G Andrews, Ross
