Dear Editor,
On a wet and windy Sunday morning someone else’s emergency became my salvation.
My visit to Hildersley Fire Station to donate clothes and shoes meant that my rapidly deflating rear nearside tyre was spotted by eagle-eyed Martin as he tended to the recently returned engine.
He finished putting the large red vehicle ‘to bed’ then set about rectifying my small blue vehicle’s less than buoyant situation. In no time the ‘flat’ was replaced, and I was on my way.
So I would like to thank our gallant fire-fighters, Martin, Matt and mates, and remind everyone of the cheery yellow bin on their forecourt when recycling good quality clothes and shoes.
An excellent cause - the firefighting I mean – not rescuing females in distress. Although, on second thoughts.
