MADAM, On behalf of Ross Community First Responders, I would like to thank Ross Rugby Football Club for its very generous donation of £200. This is the first donation towards purchasing a fully equipped 4X4 vehicle solely for the use of Ross First Responders.
The Rugby Club's Christmas Draw, at the club's headquarters, the Drop Inn, was exceptional and attended by many.
The majority of the prizes were donated by local businesses, with Brian Harris working for many hours to make this event such a success.
The Community First Responder Scheme is a volunteer group, whereby local people are trained by the Ambulance Service and respond to 999 calls when there is a delay in an ambulance getting to the patient.
All kit has to be funded either personally by the volunteer or by local donations. To have support from local businesses, groups and individuals is essential to the continued success of the scheme.
