MADAM, Through your letters page, I would like to pass on my grateful thanks to those who helped me raise £841.11 for my nominated charity SSAFA at a collection day at Morrisons on Saturday, April 20th.

In particular, the Sea Cadets, who patiently took it in turns to stand and collect money. I would also like to thank Morrisons for their continued support during my term of office.

In addition, the Sea Cadets again helped me at my concert in the evening, which was arranged and performed by the Ross Choristers. The event was a tremendous success with the audience singing along to well known songs. As yet the amount raised is unknown but there will be a presentation at a later date from the Choristers to the Mayor's charity.
