Madam, I recently visited a Ross coffee shop and became vaguely aware of two teenage girls (I am in my 80s) sitting at a table to my left. Having drunk my coffee I put my hat on the table and left for a short bathroom break. On my return I was amazed to find a sketch of myself and a delightful letter signed Zoe and Zoe sitting inside my up-turned hat.

I looked around and saw the girls smiling. They were the authors of this work. I was highly impressed with my profile, as was my wife who joined me later. At my request they autographed the sketch. We congratulated them and wished them well.

I would now like to say a big 'thank you' to Zoe and Zoe. Clearly they will go a long way on their chosen path, whatever that may be, and the art world would be the poorer place without them. I hope that they will get the recognition that they deserve.

It is moving to be flattered in this way by young people particularly at my age and I intend to frame the sketch with the letter as a reminder of such a pleasant experience.

I do hope that you will publish this letter in recognition of their kindness.
