William Cook, who used to live at the Camp, in Ross-on-Wye in the 1950s would love to see any pictures of the place, when it was home to dozens of families, if anyone has any.

The Camp was temporary housing provided for families after the war if they had nowhere else to live.

William was about seven years old when he moved with his family to a new council house but he has fond memories of The Camp. He can remember meeting the Italian Prisoners of War and running errands for them and they would make things. He told the Ross Gazette he would love to see any pictures of his former home, or possibly purchase them.

If you have pictures you are willing to share, please contact Mr Cook on 01989 564157 or 07994 617980.

The Ross Gazette understands that the site where the Camp stood later become the site of the Woodville Rubber Factory.

If you have any information about this part of the town please contact the Gazette.
