Dear Editor,
Thank you for my copy of the 150th anniversary edition. I was delighted to find a couple of references to my great-great-great grandfather, Henry Minett, in it.
As he was a solicitor in the town, he was secretary to a number of the local institutions, so I wasn’t surprised to find him reported from the AGM of the Ross-on-Wye Dispensary.
However, I was pleased to see that he also gave one of the “readings in aid of the sufferers of the colliery explosions” at the Corn Exchange, even if his reading was considered “a little too long”!
