Dear Editor,

May I use your columns to congratulate Ross Town Council for starting to clear the banks of the River Wye, along the Rope Walk and beyond towards Wilton Bridge.

At last you can see the river from nearly every seat along the riverside path.

Instead of a hedge of brambles, nettles and Himalayan balsam several feet high, visitors and locals alike can now enjoy a view of the river.

Well done and please keep up the good work.
