Ross Second XI entertained Martley 2nd XI at home at The Park last on
Saturday, May 23rd.
The home side won the toss and batted first, setting a competitive
total of 201 for 7 off 45 overs.
Harry King topscored with 52, backed up by Stuart Mair (44) and James
Tiffen (23). G Rudd (11-2-20-3) and S Hine (11-0-48-3) were the
leading wicket takers for Martley.
In reply. Martley's top order were unable to cope with opening bowler
Stuart Tucker (12-2-30-5) but it was a hundred stand between Rob
Ganderton (85*) and skipper Jonathan McGahan (33) that put the
Martley innings back on the rails.
Ross strained to clean up the tail and Jack Waldis (2 for 25) broke
the sixth wicket partnership, but Martley hung on to finish on 153
for 8 off 45 overs.
