old age but when one firstly reads of black holes in the County Council's budgets with a need to make savings and then of the enforced closure of The Chestnuts Residential Home - presumably to make money, I have to ask how the local council is able to provide some £6000 to help provide a cinema at The Phoenix?

No doubt I will be told 'it was in the Town Plan' and I cannot argue with that but why was more effort not made to publicise the excellent cinema facilities offered by St Mary's?

A relatively large amount of money could have been put to a better use and the Town Council could still boast they had met a demand of the Town Plan.
