Goodrich 1st XI travelled to Garnons 1st XI in division 1 of the GB Liners Marches league on Saturday 25th June. Both captains stuck to the rules of the toss and Goodrich invited Garnons to bat.
The opening bowlers of M Bradford and J O'Brien got stuck in straight away to the league's top team removing Pearson-Gregory early on, then keeping the bowling tight and restricting runs to edges and overthrows.
After 20 overs Garnons had crept to 68-1. Two more wickets fell in the next two overs and O'Brien and Bradford finished with figures of 2-62 and 1-29 respectively of 12 overs each.
With the aid of tight fielding throughout the team and the excellent bowling from R Bastable and L Phillips-page wickets kept on tumbling with Bastable finishing with 4-35 and Phillips-page 2-38. Full report in this week's Gazette.
