The trophy is to be the prize for the winning team in a seven-a-side football tournament, to be held on Saturday July 31st to raise funds for the Tudorville and District Community Centre.

The tournament has been arranged by Phil Ravenhill and Tom Cutter. It features a mixture of local players who have been selected for teams such as Liverpool Ross Kopites, Aston Villa FC Elite and Manchester United Legends. There will be eight teams in total arranged into two groups of four.

Group A will be Monmouth Kingfishers, Liverpool Ross Kopites, Armchair Arsenal and the United Colours of Leeds and Hereford.

Group B will be AVFC Elite, Manc Legends, Spurs Army and Fat Club.

Winners and runners up will take part in semi-finals, then the final.

Walford Timber are sponsoring the trophy and the organisers are very grateful to Trivett Hicks, who are sponsoring the Golden Boot, Mavis Russell, for sponsoring the Man of the tournament prize, Dawley estates, AA Electrical Supplies and Box Clever Packaging who are all sponsoring awards on the day.

There willbe other attractions including a Bouncy Castle and a burger van.

There will also be a prize raffle including an authentic 1982 Aston Villa shirt signed by the European Cup Winning captain Dennis Mortimer and Sunday lunch for two at the Wilton Court Hotel.

The tournament Kicks off at 11am on Saturday, July 31st at Ross Rowing Club and should finish around 4pm.
