Madam, I would like to thank all the people of Ross-on-Wye over the last few weeks for using our smaller stores for their shopping whilst Somerfield has been shut. We have all appreciated your custom and patience and hope that we have not lost you for good now that Sainsbury's has opened their doors.
However I do have my doubts whether the retail giants are as community spirited as they try to appear. And with the amount of advertising already put into the grand re-opening was it really necessary to place a giant van towed billboard slap bang in between Spar and One Stop. Apparently so.,..,,.,
So Sainsbury's 'welcome to Ross', a little bit of advice to help you fit right in. Maybe you should look further into the community, and instead of your command and conquer attitude with smaller stores, you should 'try something new today' and share the wealth.
