MADAM, It has become essential to get this New Labour style council in Hereford out of office as quickly as possible, before it gets worse.
It has been officially criticized for its legal costs in planning matters, when it frequently ignores the advice it is given. So, in typical fashion, it now uses this as an excuse to reduce public supervision of what it is up to by getting rid of its regional planning committees and installing a bunch of sycophants.
Benito Mussolini would have done something like this — and he got shot for it. It is not Conservative policy to centralize local government, the Liberals seem to be opposing it too, and it is certainly not socialism. Leominster is not famous for listening to its public and not many folk would want it deciding what happens in Ross.
So when that new candidate with an ugly face from the local cats' home comes asking for our vote, we are going to have to think carefully about stirring our stumps and making our mark.
K Horne, Gorsley
