Against a spirited and committed Belmont side Ross produced a brilliant performance and dominated in all areas of the pitch to win the game 3-1.

With a new look line-up Jacob and Ollie started in unaccustomed wide positions upfront and their pace dictated the early play. Jacob struck the bar and Ollie forced a free-kick that Jake(W) fizzed just wide.

The width provided space in the channels which James(D), Chris and Jake(W) exploited and supported James(R) the lone striker. James(D), Chris, Jake(W) and James(R) all went close. Matt and Joel in the centre of the defence were strong with Jake(C) and Sam closing out any danger and linking well in attack.

Sam smashed a drive just wide and pressure on the left found James(D). His first touch was exquisite and with a superb finish opened the scoring.

The movement and interplay was top drawer and Belmont were lucky to make it to the break only one down.

The second half continued in the same vein and the early pressure saw Chris and Jake(W) go close. Ross pressed and won a corner. Jake(W) delivered a perfect corner, James(R) crashed a header against the bar and the ball was steered in to the net by James(D), 2-0.

Ross pressed but the game was getting scrappy and it took another corner expertly delivered by Jake(W) and an accomplished headed-finish from James(R), who soared high above the defence for a well deserved goal.

With Ross leading 3-0 the game entered the last ten minutes. Belmont went in search of a consolation and a free-kick produced a super save from Kieran(B). Belmont pressed and only alert goalkeeping from Kieran(B) prevented them scoring.

In the dying seconds an innocuous incident was considered worth a penalty and Belmont got one back.

Ross totally dominated the game and won well. The man of the match award went to James(R) for a great display.
