MADAM, I would like you to bring to the attention to the people of Ross that someone in the town has been very lucky in winning £100,000 from the health lottery, but hasn't yet claimed their win.

It first came to my notice watching TV a few weeks ago when they show what part of the country the big winners have come from. That particular week there was one in Scotland, the other in Ross.

I asked at the local retailers what shop was the lucky one which had sold the ticket but no one seemed aware of there being a local winner.

Unlike the national lottery, the winner cannot claim from the shop but has to apply from the Health Lottery itself. Unlike the national Lottery the Health Lottery does not bring it to public attention that a winner has not yet come forward and the area in which it was won.

It is left to the participant to claim. Hopefully you can bring this to the attention of the people of Ross and there could be a happy outcome and a prosperous year for a local resident.

Peter Hughes, Ross.
