If you are retired, or semi-retired, the open day on Monday, November 17 the Larruperz Centre at 2.30pm, might be of interest and be an opening for a new chapter in your life,

The U3A is a national organisation for people in their ‘third age’ who are interested in meeting people, making new friends, learning something new and most importantly having fun.

Ross U3A was established in 1992 and today it has over 600 members with over 60 different interest groups.

The interest groups meet throughout the month at various venues across Ross and the local area. There are groups that cover a wide variety of subjects, far too many to include them all here.

However, to give you some idea how broad the range is they have more active groups that enjoy things like pub walks, yoga and cycling, as well as some that are less active like, languages, various arts and crafts, book and photography clubs, as well as groups that play games like, chess, bridge, canasta, Scrabble and Rummikub.

They also have current affairs and philosophy groups, as well as a gardening group, trips to the theatre among the offerings.

As well as the various groups, there is a monthly meeting with speakers on topics that vary each month as well as monthly meetings with speakers specifically on science and rechnology and history.

It’s a great chance to go along and meet up with people and learn something new.

More details on all of this can be found on their website ross,u3asite.uk .

Whether you have lived in the area all your life or moved here recently there should something of interest to you. Why not go along to find out more.
