Members of Drybrook and District Ladies Choir recently enjoyed a weekend in Carmarthen where they were guests of the Carmarthen Male Voice Choir at their Annual Concert in Christ Church.

The ladies sang a varied programme of songs including Cold Play’s Viva La Vida, May it Be (Lord of the Rings) and a lively performance of ‘I’m gonna wash that man right out of my hair’ from South Pacific which went down well with the audience.

On the Sunday the Choir made a short journey to the National Botanic Garden of Wales where they performed in the Great Glasshouse. With blue skies above and the sun shining through the glass dome the choir were accompanied by bird song in an enchanting surroundings of trees, shrubs and plants.

The Choir is looking forward to their next event, a Christmas Concert at Holy Trinity Church, Drybrook on Wednesday, December 11th. They are also performing at the Co-op in Cinderford on Saturday, December 21st, singing carols to get everyone into the spirit of Christmas.

The Choir welcomes new members and meets every Wednesday at Drybrook Band Room, 7 -9pm. If you would like more information please contact them at [email protected]
