Villagers at Sellack, who have been working hard to raise funds to restore their beautiful church of St Tysilio at Sellack, were delighted to discover that they have been awarded £75,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund for structural work.
The Grade I church is located not far from the Welsh border and is the only church in England to have the name of a Welsh saint. It is used twice a month for services but has also staged several performances by local choirs which have been organised as part of the fundraising drive.
Neil Unitt, Fund Raising Committee Chairman, told the Ross Gazette that it was very good news that the church had been awarded the lottery funding but they still have to find a significant sum of money within the community.
He said:?"There is still a lot of work to do but anyone who wants to find out more about the church should visit our website at http://www.sellackchurch."">www.sellackchurch."
