The Mayor of Ross, Councillor Nigel Gibbs was one local resident amazed to see the transformation of the former Dayla packing plant at Ross, when he attended the opening of the re-developed Vimto factory.
By the end of this year £4.5million will have been invested in the site on Netherton Road, which processes 10million litres of product a year.
There are 50 members of staff at the factory who pack juice, syrups, slush and cordials.
CEO Marnie Millard gave an outline of the success of the company which was founded in 1908 in Manchester.
John Noel Nichols, a wholesaler of herbs, spices and medicines, saw a market for soft drinks due to the temperance movement and created the recipe for Vimto which is still a closely guarded secret today.
Ms Millard explained that the company has adapted to changing tastes, and ensures its staff are part of a happy team, while still being financially successful.
Vimto has a unique relationship with Coca Cola and Britvic and has explored several new markets including frozen products such as the new Unicorn Slush.
