There is no rulebook for raising a family and sometimes it can be overwhelming, particularly if you are going through difficult times. Home-Start Herefordshire can help you and your family, and understand what you are going through.
Home-Start is a unique service for families, recruiting and training volunteers to support parents with children at home, six new volunteers have just completed the preparation course and are looking forward to helping a family in the county.
When you volunteer for HSH, you’ll become a lifeline for a family, helping them get back on their feet and develop the skills they need to cope in the future.
Home-Start’s popular accredited Volunteer preparation courses are held three times a year, with every course running for 40 hours over 10 weeks, Courses are designed to tie in with the school day and volunteers are asked to attend just once a week 9.30am – 2.45pm.
At the end of the course, 100% of the volunteers said they would recommend the course to a friend, and what’s more it carries a level two Accreditation. This qualification combined with the experience gained working with Home-Start, can act as a wonderful stepping stone into future careers.
Male and female adults of all ages who are parents or have experience with young children or teenagers are invited to join their dedicated team at Home-Start Herefordshire.
