Madam, During the recent weather problems, Walford Parish has been fortunate to have a hero who has ensured that residents have not been left isolated.
A lot of our residents are elderly and live on the hills. Due to the snow and ice it has meant that they could not get out for necessary shopping and attending vital hospital appointments.
Thanks to one of our Parish Councillors, Simeon Cole, the roads have been cleared, vehicles have been rescued and the most vulnerable residents have been ferried to hospital, had deliveries of oil and been able to keep warm and fed.
We in Walford are indeed fortunate to have a community spirit so ably demonstrated by the generosity of Simeon and other residents who also rallied round.
