Ross gained accreditation as a Walkers are Welcome town in July and one of the first things the Ross Steering Group set out to do was to provide visible evidence of this. The Steering Group decided that display boards should be placed at several points around the town.

These boards display the Walkers are Welcome logos, the Ross Town Council's Coat of Arms and some descriptive text explaining that Ross is a WaW town. Walk programmes for the Ross Walking Group and Ross Ramblers will also be displayed. The first two display boards have been put up and can be seen in the Tourist Information Centre and the Heritage Centre. Over the coming weeks several more boards will be placed around the town.

Herefordshire Council has erected a display cabinet on the riverside at the Ropewalk containing a map of the Ross area with the route of the John Kyrle Walk highlighted and the programme of the Walking Festival, on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th.
