The ‘Walking with the Wounded’ group passed through St Weonards, near Ross-on-Wye, last week on their 1000 mile journey around the UK.

Day 43 of the challenge saw the team travel from Hereford to Monmouth on Friday, October 2nd, via the Old Hereford Road.

The challenge aims to raise money to help re-train and re-educate servicemen and women; both veterans and those leaving the forces.

Stewart Hill, who was wounded in Afghanistan, told the Ross Gazette: “It is a difficult challenge but the donations that we are getting on the roadside make it a lot easier.”

Stewart had been an Officer in the Army before suffering a brain injury. His sister, Sally Mitchell, who lives in Monmouth, joined the group for this leg of the walk.
