Madam, As relative newcomers to Ross-on-Wye we wanted to take the time to say a huge thank you. My wife and I moved here two years ago and opened Pots and Pieces Teashop and Gift Shop in the High Street.
We previously lived in a market town in Bedfordshire and immediately noticed how friendly and welcoming people were in Ross, we quickly established our business in difficult trading times and continue to gain new customers every week. The one piece of feedback we get continuously from customers from the nearby towns and villages and further away is what a lovely town Ross on Wye is. They find it a friendly place and love the mix of familiar shops with the many unique independent shops, something their own towns don't have.
We have a lot to be proud of here, excellent results in the recent shopping survey where Ross came fifth, the new and very active Association of Ross Traders who organised the successful Christmas shopping day in conjunction with Ross In Bloom, the local heritage and rich history of the area and the wonderful setting of the river and Forest of Dean – a truly beautiful area. All this is complemented by active websites such as Wyenot.com and local magazines and newspapers who spread the good news about our town plus the countless organisation who are working to improve things in many different ways locally.
So thank you Ross for being so unique and thank you to the people of Ross for making us feel so welcome and behalf of all the independent traders, thank you for supporting your local shops, we couldn't exist without you.
