The doors of the public conveniences in Croft Court will close on November 1st despite Ross Town Council agreeing to start negotiations with Herefordshire Council about the transfer of community assests. This is a long list of properties and facilites, including car parks and the Market House, which the cash strapped county council wants to pass over to parish councils to run.
At the meeting of Ross Town Council on Monday, October 14th, all the Councillors present – Bartrum, Grey, Atkinson, Henderson, Utting and Roberts – voted in favour of two Notices of Motion which had been proposed by Cllr Dr Jane Roberts. They agreed that the town council will back negotiations with Herefordshire Council re asset transfer and will do so with due diligence and in the interests of the people of the town. They also agreed to work with Ross Rural Council, and other community groups and councils.
