MADAM, It has been decided to attempt to create a Neighbourhood Plan, with both Ross Town Council and Ross Rural Parish Councils, forming a joint team to develop proposals to submit to the electorate.
In order to make the plan comprehensive a major public consultation exercise will be undertaken.
It is now time for the people of Ross to let their elected representatives know what their "Vision" is for Ross and its surrounding area in the period to 2031. The only concrete facts that we have from Herefordshire Council, in relation to their "Core" Plan, is that the area (HR9) is expected to accommodate 2000+ dwellings, with Ross itself having 900.
The Core Plan offers NO specific proposals for any significant changes to the infrastructure, schools, medical services etc; During the 18 year plan period, I feel it is beholden on the people living within the Ross area, to raise their voices regarding the substantial social change planned.
What is the long term "Vision" for Ross? How will any plan take account of all the needs of an expanded Ross? What are the impacts likely to be on the quality of life for Ross citizens?
Please participate in the process of defining the future direction of Ross; this may be the best and last chance you have to have an impact on the environment in which you live.
