Essential Sewing Services has received the Gold Award for the best dressed Jubilee window in Ross. The competition organisers, Ross in Bloom, presented the Lucas Motorcycles Rose Bowl to the shop in Gloucester Road.

"I am absolutely delighted," said Essential Sewing Services owner, Helen Kiddy. "We've been prize winners every one of the eleven years that we've taken part, but this is the first time that we've won the trophy!"

The winning window display was the inspiration and creation of Essential Sewing Services Staff member, Anne Rhead, who used red, white and blue fabric, ribbon, wool, retro knitting and dress patterns and bits and pieces of haberdashery sold in the shop.

Helen is already planning an Olympic themed window display for the summer.
