An unprecedented multimedia promotional campaign is being mounted by Local Weekly Newspapers throughout the United Kingdom by the Weekly lndependent Newspaper Association (WINA)
WINA will lead the UK's 930 weekly newspapers in reinforcing awareness of the involvement local weekly newspapers have in the wellbeing of their local communities and the role that the local weekly newspaper plays as a focal point of community life.
A TV campaign with a 30 second showcase advertisement will be launched on 21st February 2014 on Granada, Border, Yorkshire (South, Central, East and West) HTV, LWT and Meridian (East and West), (areas specific to WINA newspaper titles) and will be backed up by a 90 second extended version to be featured on all weekly newspaper websites across the UK.
A specially commissioned song, "Movies in My Mind" has been composed and is used in the promotion.
The promotion was originally the idea of Sir Ray Tindle (Chairman of Tindle Newspapers), who said: "I am delighted that this promotion for Local Weekly Newspapers has come to fruition through the great drive and effort of Joanno Parlby as Chairman of WINA, Russell Whitehair, Geraldine Allinson and Jeremy Willis',
