Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a cyclist, named locally as Leon Hill, was injured after he was in collision with a van in Ross this morning, Thursday, November 7th.

The incident happened at 6am on the A449 heading towards the M50.

A Citroen Relay white panel van driven by a Gloucestershire man was in collision with the man riding the black pedal cycle.

The cyclist, who is aged in his 40s, suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to the QE Hospital in Birmingham. He is a local man from Ross and his condition is critical.

The van driver was not injured.

PC Kerry Welding said: "We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to get in touch as soon as possible. It would have been dark at the time of the collision and we need to piece together exactly what happened".
