MEMBERS?of the Ross Fairtrade Town steering group visited the offices of the Marine Conservation Society, MCS, last week to make a presentation to office manager Hannah Furnell in recognition of her work for the charity.
Hannah is responsible for MCS becoming a Fairtrade workplace, because she is a passionate supporter of the work of Fairtrade.
She said:?"I have always tried to use Fairtrade and I like to think that in Ross I can do a small part in ensuring everyone responsible for creating a product is dealt with fairly, it really benefits the whole chain."
The steering group have been rewarding their Fairtrade Supporter of the month with a selection of goods such as a cotton tea towel and soap. Hannah was delighted to see this was not in a plastic container as MSC campaign to reduce the amount of plastic waste produced, which often ends up in the sea.
