A Christmas draw held by Ross Rugby Club raised a bumper £300 for a volunteer group whose members respond to medical emergencies in and around the town.

The club presented the cash to representatives of Hereford and Worcester Community First Responders last Thursday following the draw at the Drop Inn pub.

A club spokesperson said: “Thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas draw from the generous local businesses and members who donated prizes to the people who purchased tickets.

“A special thank you to the Drop Inn for accommodating us back at our HQ for the evening due to the extreme cold.

“HWCFR Ross-on-Wye were presented with a cheque for £300 from the proceeds, while the remaining money raised will go towards the planned club improvements, enabling us to provide better facilities for the club and community at Greytree pitches.”
