Young people in the area have long supported the Ross Action Committee. When the first bus took the first group of passengers out for a trip it was to John Kyrle High School.
The pupils invited the group to tea and organised entertainment for them, and the Ross Gazette was there to capture this moment. Rosemary Rigby, the President of the Ross Action Committee believes this was about 45 years ago.
The gentleman in the centre of the photograph is Mr Archie Wilden and Rosemary told the Gazette that his son, Norman Wilden, is a great supporter of the bus. When it was his 90th birthday recently he asked for donations to the Ross Action Bus and raised £50.
Miss Rigby was thrilled to show the members of the Ross-on-Wye Leos group, which meet at John Kyrle High School, the picture when she visited recently to receive a cheque for £300 which they had raised for the bus.
