Professor Janusz Kozinski, President of New Model in Technology and Engineering (NMiTE), is inviting Herefordians to come and share ideas about the new university being created in Hereford.
NMiTE is due to have its first “design cohort” students arrive in September, to help to develop the new style of education and test out student life in Hereford. The NMiTE team are keen that the local community is kept up to date on progress and also has the opportunity to share opinions and ideas.
The event Your Uni, Your Say will be held in The Shirehall on Wednesday, May 23rd. Doors open at 6.30pm with a short presentation starting at 7pm followed by an open Q&A session, which is planned to finish at 8pm. The event is free to attend but the NMiTE team are asking that people register through EventBrite to help manage numbers: www.your-uni.eventbrite.co.uk
Janusz Kozinski said: “Working with the local community is absolutely vital to the success of this project, after all who better knows what works and doesn’t work in Hereford than the people who live and work here. We want to be an open and collaborative institution that is woven into the social fabric of Hereford, not an organisation created behind closed doors with closed ears. I really hope that as many of our neighbours as possible can join us for an update and hopefully some lively discussion afterwards in the Q&A.”
Topics that will be covered include: Timelines, Academic buildings, Transport planning, Student accommodation and Funding.
