Cheltenham Racecourse honoured one of the greats of Jump Racing at The Open, a prestigious and historic three-day meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse last Friday, November 14th.
The late jockey and trainer Michael Scudamore, grandfather of Bromsash trainer and namesake, Michael, was remembered with the £20,000 Michael Scudamore Intermediate Handicap Hurdle.
Michael Scudamore, who died aged 81 in July, and had eight winners at The Festival between 1950 and 1964. Most famously he had a triumphant ride aboard Oxo in the 1959 Grand National at Aintree.
