Following in the footsteps of their ’A’ and ’C’ teams, it was the turn of Goodrich Ladies ’B’ashers to visit Woolhope on Sunday, January 28th, to take on their ’B’ team in Division 5 West of the H & W Winter League.

Cath Hutchinson and Kim Martin got off to a flying start taking the first set 6-1, however they were pegged back in the second set but still managed to secure a two set victory, 7-5 in the second.

There were no such problems for Jill Brown and Kirsten Ainsworth, who ran out winners 6-1 / 6-4 in their first rubber.

In the second round Cath Hutchinson and Kim Martin secured another straight sets win, 6-2 / 6-1, and Jill Brown and Kirsten Ainsworth soon followed suit with a 6-1 / 6-3 victory.

A good afternoon’s tennis for the Bashers with both pairs only conceding 9 games each. This puts them top of the division, with their next match away to Whitecross on Saturday, February 24th.
