108 members took part in Ross Golf Club's 5th and final Winter Stableford competion to decide the final 12 members who will join the top qualifiers from the previous rounds. They will be aiming to win the Club's first major Honours Board event of 2012 when they play for the Barnfield Trophy on Saturday March 10th. In idyllic conditions there were five players all recording the days top score of 39 points with Handicap Division 1 player and 12 handicapper, M Maslen, just getting the top spot position on count-back. Runner-up in Division 1 was P Cresswell, also with 39 points, followed by M Bedney with 37 points, G Moyle, C Spiers and N Montague all with 36 points, and the 35 pointers were R Kandiah, B Clouder and PChapman.

In Handicap Division 2 A Hobbs topped the final scoresheet with 39 points, followed by G Jell and S Jones who also both scored 39 points, with the 38 pointers being P Bull, M Thornton and B Fraser and with 37 points each were B Bethell, A Hope, A Peterson and A Moore.

Although Ross Seniors cannot win their 2011/12 Round Robin Winter League, they can finish runners-up to the known victors, Leominster Seniors should they win their final three matches. A convincing 7.5 points to .5 points victory when Sapey Seniors were the visitors has kick-started their campaign in earnest.

With all team members having a positive influence on the match result, there were wins for Team Captain, D David/F Gallagher 3/2, C Wheatstone/K Vowles, J Palmer/G Baker, and N Swan/P Shaw all by 4/3, G Turner/K Ray and T Rigden/G Chick both 2/1, M Harris/R Escolme 1 up and a halved match involving J Allen/D Thrower, and who impressively won their last three holes to avoid defeat.
