Ross Rugby Club are holding a 'NatWest RugbyForce' day at Greytree on Saturday June 15th from 10am. The day will see rugby clubs across the country host similar events where volunteers and communities get behind their clubs to help improve and renovate their facilities.
Ross Rugby Club Secretary Guy Gregory said: "We are trying to get as many from the club there as possible, seniors, ladies and juniors, to maintain the clubhouse, and tidy up the grounds between 10am and 2pm.
"From 2pm, we will be having games for all plus a BBQ and a few drinks. Staff from NatWest, from the Ross branch, will be coming to support the event."The club will be receiving a donation from NatWest of £250. Ross Rugby Club's name will also be added to the steps at Twickenham, as one of the participating clubs in RugbyForce Day. Ross finished sixth in the online Pride of the Nation voting camp to honour clubs.
Guy said: "The day is really aimed at bringing the club together. The 'works' will include painting the interior walls, showers, varnishing woodwork, general tidy up of the interior, strimming the grass, tidying up the perimeters, and replacing the advertising hoardings so that they have ply backing and don't keep blowing away!"
Steve Grainger, RFU Rugby Development Director, said: "The RFU is focused on strengthening our member clubs. We are confident that NatWest RugbyForce will help make clubs stronger by getting volunteers and communities behind them. Improvements will help lead to more sustainable rugby clubs."
