Blessed with brilliant summer sunshine Ross Rowing Club celebrated in style this weekend at its annual Presidents lunch which was combined with its traditional Club Sports event. With over 200 members and guests attending it made it very special for competitors and honoured guests alike.

Club sports comprised of crews made up of a mixture from the ladies and men's squads combined with elder junior squad members. For the younger juniors there were some fantastic mixed quads events. Additional events included the coaches double scull event and the captains challenge event in which selected crews raced for the privilege of racing the men's and ladies captain to win the captains blade! On the day the Club was delighted to be joined by its very own GB rowing star, Morgan Baynham Williams. Back from her winning coxing ways with the GB under 23 squad, Morgan was keen to cox and row in her home club event. Her careful selection to row with club President Ian Howell was keenly supported and resulted in a win for the unlikely duo.

With over 100 competing club members this made for an absolutely wonderful sporting spectacle. They were joined by over 50 supporting club members and another 50 special guests made up of past members, patrons, and rowing friends from Stratford and Evesham rowing clubs.
