On Saturday Ross Juniors senior side welcomed Wooferton to Ross Sports Centre, knowing that a win would send them top of Herefordshire Division 1, and after another strong performance Ross won 4 – 1 to take their place at the top of the league.

Manager Dan Morris and Assistant Manager Neil Tookey had a tough call to make with the starting 11, as they had a strong squad of 14 players to pick from. The first 15 minutes was scrappy as both sides struggled to get any control of the game, however the game came to life with a stunning goal. A quick one two between Jon Tookey and Densley gave Tookey a bit of space to run into, he back heeled the ball into the path of his brother Dave who curled a stunning effort into the top corner from fully 25 yards for his first goal for the club. This should have settled Ross down, but they became a bit sloppy with the ball and were grateful to Morris in goal who pulled off two excellent saves. As the first half progressed Ross started to control the game and create chances, Davies pulled his shot wide when played in by Wooding, then the away keeper pulled off a stunning save to deny Dave Tookey once again, after some excellent play. On the stroke of half time Ross got the second goal, a brilliant through ball by Densley allowed Wooding to run one on one with the keeper, Wooding skipped round him expertly to roll the ball into an empty net and put Ross 2 – 0 up at half time.
