Celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of Aston Ingham Cricket Club, took place at their Annual dinner at The Chase Hotel.
Nearly 100 people gathered on Saturday, October 15th, 26 of them were from the junior section of the club, which now numbers 60. Eight of the club’s junior membership have been selected to represent either County, Development, or District teams, across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.
After a fantastic meal, and speeches, the awards were handed out by Club Coach, Bruce Ballance, brother of England batsman, Gary Ballance. The 1st XI Best Batsman, Bowler and All Rounder went to Andrew Bevan, The 2nd XI Best Batsman, Bowler and All Rounder to Luke Ward, The Richard Hirst Award for Most Wickets in all Games was won by Matt Davies.
The Most Improved Player, Fielding Award and the Players’ Player Award were won by Ollie O’Neill, James Hamilton and Dave Skyrme, respectively.
On Saturday, November 5th the club is holding its annual bonfire display at Stockings Field - Donations are being taken in advance with entry on the night, £5 adults, and £3 for those 18 and under.
Adult Nets commence on Sunday 15th January, from 8.30-10am, with junior Nets from Friday February 3rd 2017 from 5.30 until 7.30pm - all at Newent Sports Centre on Watery Lane.
Bruce Ballance will again be the lead coach at all sessions. New members always welcome.
