In a repeat performance of last week, Ross 2nds bagged another maximum 25 point haul as a result of a comprehensive 209 run victory over bottom of the table Glangrwyney at The Park.
On a gloriously sunny afternoon, Ross won the toss, elected to bat and got straight down to business. Openers Richie Jeffryes 57 and Keith Flitton 35 posted 88 before RJ was bowled attempting an ambitious drive.
Tom Edwards joined in the fun and blasted his way to an impressive 82. Paul Morris highlighted the depth of batting within the Ross team striking an elegant unbeaten 49, which enabled Ross to set an imposing total of 259 for three from the 40 overs on offer.
This target was always going to be a huge challenge for the visitors against a confident Ross bowling attack and, true to form, Cam Hill maintained his customary disciplined lines and controlled pace to return figures of 2-19 from six overs.
This week, it was Lizzie Jeffryes at the other end who stole the show and thwarted any ambition the visitors may have had with an impressive display of fiery leg spin, bagging a five wicket haul for 15 off seven overs.
Chris Mason wrapped up the tail in a miserly seven over spell of nagging swing to end with 2-5. Skipper Jeffryes also brought junior player Aekudom Abbot into the attack for his inaugural bowling spell in senior cricket and the youngster conceded just five runs from his three over spell.
The visitors were bowled out for 50 and this latest win sees Ross tighten their grip on third position in the Division Four table. This weekend sees the team take the short trip to Fownhope to play Strollers, hoping to maintain their form and consolidate their promotion chasing challenge.
