ROSS CC's promotion hopes took a hit at home to Hay, when the visitors reached the 203 all out target with eight balls to spare.

Muhammed Noufal Fazaludeen hit a magnificent 122 off 91 balls for the hosts, including 22 fours and a six, backed by 22 from Sachin Anil and 20 from Luke Timewell.

But 100 not out from John Sly guided Hay to 207-4 in 43.4 overs, Chloe Tingle and Timewell taking two wickets apiece, with the result seeing Dales knock Ross off the top of Worcestershire 8 South, and the visitors drawing level on points with them in third with a game in hand.

The previous weekend had seen a brilliant Ross bowling performance skittle out hosts Bartestree & Lugwardine for just 35 runs in 19 overs, having reached 190 all out themselves.

Anil scored 44 and Albert Johnson 36 for the visitors, but the fireworks started when the hosts began their reply, with not one batter making double figures.

Will Brookes held a catch off a Chloe Tingle delivery for the first dismissal (17-1), and from that point wickets fell like ninepins, Mudassir Raspool taking five wickets for 10 runs off six overs and Kiran Krishman 4-7 off 5.3 overs, with the visitors winning by 155 runs.

Ross visit Ledbury this Saturday.
