ASTON Ingham 1sts suffered a nail-biting one wicket loss at Charlton Kings in their West of England Gloucestershire Premier clash on Saturday.

Anthony James again starred with the bat firing 52 for the visitors, but no one else could match him, Craig Baker with 23, Gus Carini-Roberts 20, and Dharzekanth Yoganadan 17 the best of the rest, as the visitors were all out for 160 in 45.2 overs.

The bowlers had more joy reducing the hosts to 38-4, 120-7 and 144-9, but Charlton Kings squeezed to 164-9 in the 34th over.

Mohamed Dilshad took 4-32, Dan Smith 2-18 and Sam Didcote 2-20.

The 2nds also lost by seven wickets at home to Parkend 1sts after being dismissed for 125 in 34.5 overs.

Will Green with 27, Clyde Breetzke 14 and Dave Lacey 11 were the only batters to make double figures, and the Foresters had little trouble breezing to 126-3 in 21.5 overs in reply, Luke Ward with two wickets and Sam Fitzmaurice one.

It proved a totally different day for the 3rds however, who won by 146 runs at home to Highnam Court 2nds after reaching 225-4.

Former leading jump jockey Tom Scudamore galloped to 57, his score matched by Harry Hollamby with an unbeaten knock, and backed by Nathan Davis with 24 and Leo Lockwood 21.

And the bowlers then made hay skittling Highnam for 79 in 21.2 overs, Oliver Dennis taking 3-13, Oliver Kelsall 2-30, Melissa Watson 2-19 and Philip Leighton 2-14.

The 4ths also won by 87 runs away to Parkend 2nds, scoring 194-9 off 40 overs before restricting their hosts to 107-9.

Johan Nieuwoudt fired 54 and Alex Cluley 53, backed by Colin Leighton with 23 and Andrew Garder 20 not out, before Leighton took 4-11, Gardner 2-19 and Mike Cluley 2-27.
